She began creating stories with her nephew and nieces. This grew to writing children's stories for others to read. Her love of dogs, particularly basset hounds and rescue dogs, led to her debut picture book, Twas the Night Before Christmas…A First for Gus (Young Dragon Press 2021) about a shelter pup named Gus. This debut book has won multiple awards, including the 2022 Readers’ Favorite International Book Award – Silver, Children’s.
In 2023 she published three picture books. Hello, Can I Bug You?, What's Wrong with Barnaby?, and The Best Reading Buddy. All three books have won awards this year.
This award-winning author has completed her debut middle-grade book (February 2024), The Galaxy According to CeCe. This is part of a three-book middle-grade series. This series began as a nod to her life of moving around and the one truly unusual home her family once lived in. This is also a STEM-related book with the inclusion of astronomy as a background of CeCe's family. Book two, The Galaxy According to Cece: The Mysterious Dr. Pruitt, arrives on bookshelves in November 2024. Book three will be out in 2025.
